I don’t know about you guys, but there are times that I come home from work and I am just worn out. I just want to do something that does not require me to think or even move. So I must admit that from time to time I may watch a reality (which is far from real) tv show or two. Now it is not something that I really dedicate time to, but it is interesting and mindless. Anyways, I found myself watching Hollywood Divas tonight. For those unaware, this show is made up of different actresses who are currently and previously acting. On the episode I watched these women were on a panel answering questions in an actors workshop. One of the women was asked if she ever regretted not having children. Her answer in my mind was simple. She stated that she wanted to do it the right way, because of her traditional upbringing she did not want to have children unless she was married first. Now, every other woman on this panel has children. And after the panel they had a huge issue because they felt that this woman generalized her answer, implying that they have had children the, “wrong way.” It created an interesting debate to say the least.
So in my failed desire to do something that was mindless, the Holy Spirit still decided to lay something in my spirit. As I watched these women argue back and forth over this topic I was hit with these words, “some people will be in opposition to what God calls you to.” Now I do not know about you but I have received some opposition for how I felt God leading me to live this life I have been given. And if you keep living for Christ you will as well. But this woman stood her ground and held on to her convictions. You and I both have to stand our ground and be true to our beliefs. No one has to live this life but you, meaning that no one has to be accountable for what you do, but you. So be encouraged to stand firmly on God’s word and what God has ordained for your life and continue on that path. Someone will always be in opposition, but the God we serve is bigger than that and standing proudly on the side of those doing His will.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
